The cultural life of Bosnia and Herzegovina is predominantly focused on the larger B-H cities, and is realized with standard forms of concert events, such as an evening concert of art music without the conceived contact of artists with the audience or students of music schools. In order to raise awareness and representation of art music in local communities, in which deeper involvement and communication of artists with audience is necessary, the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo has designed a unique project entitled “Music Dialogue for 10.”
Supported by the platform "Dialogue for the Future", a joint initiative of the BiH Presidency and the United Nations, the first part of the project was realized in the period 21 February 2019 - March 9, 2019 through nine visits to nine BiH. Cities: Tuzla (February 21), Bijeljina (February 22nd), Brcko (February 22nd), Doboj (February 27th), Banja Luka (February 28th), Travnik (March 4th), Bugojno March), Trebinje (March 8) and Mostar (March 9). A total of 15 music schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina took part in the project.
Each visit consisted of masterclasses with students' host schools by professors, assistants and associates of the Music Academy, the "Music Dialogue" forum and the concert of students and assistants of the Academy with a new program in each city. At the end of the project in Sarajevo (May 20th), a concert will be held in which the participants of the masterclass from the mentioned BH will perform. cities, premiering works especially written for this concert by composer of the Music Academy, prof. Dine Rešidbegović and ass. Hanan Hadžajlić.
During the realization of the first part of the project, twenty-three professors, assistants and associates of the Music Academy provided the opportunity for young people throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, primarily young people in the direct educational process - 510 (300 pupils who actively took part and 210 passive participants) interactions and education. More than 80 young people took part in public discussions in which they conducted an interactive discourse with potential future colleagues - students of the Academy.
At the same time, an opportunity was given for twenty young artists, students of the Academy to present their knowledge to the public and thus acquire the practice of public and stage performances, necessary for professional artistic engagement. An important fact to underline is the number of over 600 visitors who attended concerts of art music with free entrance, which enriched the cultural life of local communities in BiH.
Summarizing the implementation of the first part of the project, which involved a total of 1,225 people, it can be concluded that the project "Music Dialogue for 10" leaves an important trail and makes positive changes in the cultural life of BiH.
