The 11th Days of Natural Sciences in FBiH Held

On Friday, 13 December 2024, the 11th Days of Natural Sciences were held in Mostar, under the patronage of the Federal Ministry of Education and Science. This scientific-popular project involved the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics from Mostar, Sarajevo, and Tuzla. This year's conference theme, “Contemporary Trends in Natural Sciences,” focused on current achievements and innovations in the field. Representing the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Sarajevo were students (Emina Očuz, a master's student, alongside Jovana Macan, Irma Fazlić, and Nihada Ramović, undergraduate students) and faculty members from the Department of Chemistry and Biology (Project Leader Professor Dr. Mirza Nuhanović, Professor Dr. Jasmina Sulejmanović, Professor Dr. Damir Suljević, Assistant Professor Dr. Elma Šehović, and Dr. Narcisa Smječanin Omerbegović). The students from the Faculty presented two papers: “Contemporary Biomass Gasification Technologies for Sustainable Energy Production” and “The Role of Probiotics in Mitigating Toxic Effects of Micro/Nanoplastic Particles in the Organism.”
The host of this year’s gathering was the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and Educational Sciences at the University of Mostar, which welcomed participants from the academic and scientific community, providing a venue for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and the establishment of new scientific connections.
