“Ranko Radović 2021” Award for the book “Urban Rooms of Sarajevo” by Nermina Zagora and Dina Šamić
The Association of Fine Artists of Applied Arts and Designers of Serbia - ULUPUDS as the founder, the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade, the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad - Department of Architecture and Urbanism, the Institute of Architecture and Urbanism of Serbia - IAUS, the Ilija Milosavljevic Kolarac Foundation 2006 Ranko Radović International Award. The award named after the architect Ranko Radović was established with the aim of encouraging, developing and affirming critical-theoretical thought in the field of architecture and architectural creation and thus establishing criteria for its evaluation in Serbia and internationally, which includes the Republic of former Yugoslavia and countries. from the world with which Ranko Radović collaborated or in which he worked.
The prize is awarded for:
- critical-theoretical texts on architecture published in the previous calendar year as well as in the current year until the date of the award, for reviews, essays, books, lectures and the written word in general;
- realized architectural work completed in the same period;
- television shows, exhibitions or multimedia presentations realized in the same period.
The jury for the Ranko Radović Award, in category 1 (critical theoretical texts on architecture, urbanism and the city) unanimously decided to award the prize for critical theoretical texts on architecture, urbanism and the city: Doz. Dr. Nermina Zagora and Doz. Dr. Dina Šamić for the book Urban Rooms of Sarajevo: Transformation of Public Spaces with Interior Design Tools, published by the Faculty of Architecture, University of Sarajevo, 2021.
The jury consisted of: Ognjenka Finci, Miljana Zeković and Zoran Đukanović.
The award for the realized architectural work was given to the studio “Remorker Architects” for the reconstruction of the office building on the corner of Makedonska and Kondina streets in Belgrade. In the category of television shows, exhibitions, multimedia presentations, the Association “Modern in Belgrade” was awarded for the exhibition “Eighth kilometer”, 17th Venice Biennale of Architecture, 2020/2021.
