The Mayor of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo and the Rector of the University of Sarajevo inspected the construction of the UNSA Library

Today, Benjamina Karić, the Mayor of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo, accompanied by Professor Dr. Tarik Zaimović, the Rector of the University of Sarajevo, visited the ongoing construction of the University of Sarajevo Library, situated within the University Campus.

The construction of the University Library has entered its final phase, with concrete work currently underway, and the completion of all building activities scheduled for March of this year.

The new library will span over 7,000 square meters and will feature modern reading rooms, multimedia facilities, digital archives, as well as spaces for conferences and research activities. All facilities will be designed to accommodate the needs of individuals with disabilities. The official opening and occupancy of the building are anticipated in 2026.

Mayor Karić expressed her satisfaction that such a significant facility is located within the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo and noted that the new library, alongside the UNSA Campus, will become a central hub for education, science, and research activities.

Rector Professor Dr. Zaimović emphasized that plans for the continuation of the external development of the University of Sarajevo Campus include the construction of new walkways and green spaces as part of the implementation of the Master Plan, which will enhance public access to various facilities and amenities.
