UNSA Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Delegation Visited the FBiH Prime Minister
On 2 October, 2020, the UNSA Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Dean, Prof. Dr. Muhamed Smajlović, Vice Dean for Finance prof. Dr. Jasmin Omeragić and the head of the Laboratory for Molecular Genetic and Forensic Research, Prof. Dr. Teufik Goletić were at a meeting with Federal Prime Minister Fadil Novalić. The meeting was also attended by the Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Šemsudin Dedić and the Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džidić.
The Prime Minister was acquainted with the work of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Sarajevo through the scientific-teaching process, but also with the role of public health through the work of diagnostic laboratories, especially in the context of zoonotic diseases.
The Prime Minister, together with the Ministers, expressed interest and desire to provide concrete financial support as soon as possible for further improvement of laboratory capacities, which would be reflected in the training of the first biosafety level 3 laboratory (BSL 3) in the Federation of BiH and Bosnia and Herzegovina that will be part of the laboratory of the Veterinary Institute in Stup.
Also, with the Minister of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, activities will continue in order to implement the previously agreed cooperation.
