An online presentation and promotion of the digital project and mobile application "Roman Heritage of Sarajevo" was held in Sarajevo through the online platform Zoom  on 16/4/2020.

H. E. Nicola Minasi, the Italian ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasized the importance of cultural events at a time when people were forced into isolation.
“I would like to congratulate the whole team on the implementation of this project and the promotion of Italian culture in BiH and I am pleased that the Roman cultural heritage has been presented in this innovative way,” said H.E. Minasi and expressed his hope that AR technology will continue to be featured in the tourism offer of the BiH capital.

The project was coordinated by Renato Scuzzarello in front of the Association for the Promotion of Italian Culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina "Dante Alighieri", and with the support of the Tourist Board of the Sarajevo Canton based on a public invitation issued in 2019. Concept design, graphic design and video are all signed by Dr. Selma Rizvić, the application was programmed by Ivona Ivković-Kihić, Aida Sadžak did web design.

“The remains of thermal spas and urban villas created during the reign of the Roman Empire can be seen today on the site of the Ilyrian settlement Lužani, but it is difficult to imagine what they originally looked like. The project "Roman heritage of Sarajevo", through augmented reality technique, recreates these cultural monuments and offers visitors an insight into life in this area during the Roman Empire. Sarajevo's Roman legacy is a kind of continuation and upgrade of the Balkan Roman Heritage project, which was completed and presented in early 2020 “ said Selma Rizvić, professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (ETF), University of Sarajevo (UNSA), and thanked all the team members who participated in the project.

The application aims to present the enriched tourist offer of Sarajevo Canton, but also to be a unique tool for all future visitors of this site, since all those who physically visit the sites in Ilidža will be able to unlock numerous digital content related to the Roman Empire.

The details of the project are available on the cultural heritage web server: http://h.etf.unsa.ba/Romanskoheritage of Sarajevo/, as well as on the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/RHSarajevo/  where you can access the links for free download and installation of the mobile app.
