Confucius Institute at the University of Sarajevo Successfully Hosts the Bosnia and Herzegovina Final of the 19th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Secondary School Students

On May 30, 2026, the Bosnia and Herzegovina Final of the 19th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Secondary School Students, part of the overseas preliminary selection rounds, was successfully held at the Confucius Institute at the University of Sarajevo. The competition was organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC), co-organized by the Chinese Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and hosted by the Confucius Institute at the University of Sarajevo. Outstanding secondary school students from across Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the event.

Nearly 100 guests attended the competition, including representatives from Chinese language teaching institutions such as the University of Sarajevo, the University of East Sarajevo, and the University of Banja Luka; representatives from primary and secondary school teaching sites affiliated with the Confucius Institute at the University of Sarajevo; representatives of Chinese enterprises and the local Chinese business community in Bosnia and Herzegovina; local media journalists; and the contestants’ parents.

Under the theme “Pursuing Dreams through Chinese, Embracing Youthful Aspirations,” the competition consisted of three sections: a Chinese language proficiency presentation, a Chinese cultural talent performance, and a quiz on knowledge about China. These segments comprehensively assessed the contestants’ language proficiency, cultural understanding, and overall competence. A total of 11 contestants, nominated by Chinese language teaching institutions throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, participated in the competition.

After fierce competition and a rigorous evaluation conducted by the judging panel, Tin Đekić, a student nominated by the Confucius Institute at the University of Sarajevo, won First Prize in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Final. He distinguished himself through his excellent Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, extensive knowledge of China, and outstanding talent performance.

The successful organization of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Final of the 19th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Secondary School Students fully demonstrated the enthusiasm of Bosnian secondary school students for learning Chinese and their deep appreciation of Chinese culture. The event provided an excellent platform for contestants to showcase their Chinese language achievements and cultural talents.

During the event, Miroslav Živanović, Bosnian Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Sarajevo; Zhang Xuezhong, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Sarajevo; Jelena Nikolić, Head of the Department of Chinese Language at the University of East Sarajevo; Doroteja Klačar, Chinese language teacher at the University of East Sarajevo; and Guo Mucen, teacher from the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka, delivered speeches. They highly praised the contestants’ performances and affirmed the competition results, which were also widely recognized by the distinguished guests in attendance.

Following its first-place achievement in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Final of the 18th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Secondary School Students last year, the Confucius Institute at the University of Sarajevo has successfully retained the championship title this year. This accomplishment reflects the Institute’s continuous efforts to improve teaching methods, enhance educational quality, and better serve local students. It is also attributable to the strong support and close attention given to Chinese language education by the Chinese Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Institute’s partner universities—the University of Sarajevo and Northwest Normal University.

Using the Chinese language as a bridge and the competition as a platform, the Chinese Bridge Competition continues to play an important role in deepening cultural exchanges and fostering mutual understanding between China and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Confucius Institute at the University of Sarajevo will continue to provide high-quality Chinese language teaching and cultural activities, creating more opportunities for local students and members of the public to learn Chinese and experience Chinese culture.

萨拉热窝大学孔子学院成功举办

第十九届“汉语桥”世界中学生中文比赛波黑赛区决赛

2026年5月30日，第十九届“汉语桥”世界中学生中文比赛海外预选赛波黑赛区决赛在萨拉热窝大学孔子学院顺利落幕。本次比赛由中国语合中心主办，中国驻波黑大使馆协办，萨拉热窝大学孔子学院承办，吸引了来自波黑各地的优秀中学生参赛。萨拉热窝大学、东萨拉热窝大学、巴尼亚卢卡大学等波黑中文教学机构代表，萨拉热窝大学孔院中小学教学点代表，波黑当地中资企业与华商代表，以及当地媒体记者和参赛学生家长近100人参加了本次比赛活动。

本次比赛以“追梦中文，不负韶华”为主题，分为三个比赛环节：中文语言能力展示、中华才艺展示以及中国国情知识问答，全面考察选手们的语言能力、文化理解和综合素养。通过波黑赛区各中文教学机构的选送，共有11名选手参加了本次比赛。经过选手们的激烈角逐，和评委会成员的严谨评审与综合考核，最终，萨拉热窝大学孔子学院选送的学生廷杰Tin Đekić，凭借优异的中文听说读写能力、扎实的知识储备与出色才艺展示，荣获波黑赛区决赛一等奖。

本次第十九届“汉语桥”世界中学生中文比赛波黑赛区决赛的成功举办，充分展示了波黑中学生对中国文化的热爱以及越来越高涨的中文学习热情，每位选手的中文学习成果都得到了充分的展示。萨拉热窝大学孔院当地院长米奇Miroslav ŽIvanović、萨拉热窝大学孔院中方院长张学忠、东萨大中文系主任邬雅丽Jelena Nikolic、东萨大中文系教师涂寻Doroteja Klacar，巴尼亚卢卡大学孔院教师郭霂岑等专家分别致辞，并对比赛结果给与肯定，也得到与会嘉宾们的认可。

萨拉热窝大学孔子学院继去年获得第十八届“汉语桥”世界中学生中文比赛波黑赛区决赛第一名后，今年蝉联冠军，不仅是孔院持续不断优化教学方法和提升教学质量，努力服务当地学生的结果，更是得益于中国驻波黑大使馆和萨拉热窝大学及西北师范大学中波两所合作大学对孔院中文教学工作的高度重视和大力支持。

以中文为桥，以比赛为媒，是不断深化中波人文交流的重要途径。萨拉热窝大学孔子学院将继续秉持优质办学理念，不断提升中文教学水平，积极开展丰富多彩的文化交流活动，为当地民众学习中文、体验中国文化创造更多机会。
