FOURTH SYMPOSIUM ON THE BOSNIAN LANGUAGE
(Sarajevo, 12–13 November 2026)
Dear Colleagues,
It is our great honour and pleasure to invite you to participate in the international scientific conference Fourth Symposium on the Bosnian Language, which will be held on 12 and 13 November 2026 in Sarajevo.
The fourth scientific gathering of this kind represents a continuation of the initiative launched by the Language Institute in 1998 through the organization of the first Symposium on the Bosnian Language. The conclusions reached at that symposium significantly contributed to the further development of Bosnian linguistics, which remains the primary purpose of such scholarly meetings.
The international scientific conference Fourth Symposium on the Bosnian Language will address the following main topics:
- Contemporary Approaches to the Study of the Bosnian Language and Other Slavic Languages
- Language History in Bosnian and Slavic Studies
- The Bosnian Language and Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Abroad
The working languages of the Symposium are Bosnian and other Slavic languages, as well as English.
The title and abstract of the paper (up to one page – 1,800 characters) should be submitted no later than 30 September 2026 to the following email address: javnost@izj.unsa.ba.
A book of abstracts will be published prior to the Symposium.
Presentations delivered at the Symposium, following peer review and submission in written form, will subsequently be published in the conference proceedings.
There is no conference fee.
