Faculty of Law Representatives Participate in the Social Sciences 4 Democracy International Conference

Professor Damir Banović, PhD, and Teaching Assistant Almina Selimbašić, LL.M., participated in the conference “Resilience, Resistance, Renewal: Rethinking Democratic Politics in Times of War and Emergency”, held from 24 to 26 June 2026 at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul.

Professor Damir Banović presented a paper entitled “The Banality of Evil and Its Contemporary Reception and Reconceptualization”, while Teaching Assistant Almina Selimbašić , LL.M., presented her paper “Genocide between Legality and Reality: Autocratic Features of Positive Law.”

The conference represents the third annual conference of the Social Sciences 4 Democracy project, bringing together researchers and academic experts dedicated to rethinking democratic politics in times of war, crisis, and states of emergency.
