Today we are part of the University of Sarajevo, which commemorates its 70th, and we 60th anniversary. We started the Jubilee program with the Open Doors Days of the Institute of History from 24 to 28 December last year and it was an opportunity to present the work of the Institute, especially to young people, especially through the visits to the Institute and to present the activities of our institution.”
He pointed out that numerous activities were carried out, among them the monograph “Nacionalne manjine u Bosni i Hercegovini (1918-1941)” by Dr. Enes Omerović, “Arhivska građa za historiju srednjovjekovne Bosne” in 3 volumes, by Prof. Esad Kurtović, the 48th issue of the Prilozi journal and the 18th  issue of the Historijska traganja, the Book of Proceedings “Bosna i njeni susjedi u srednjem vijeku“, and the monograph “U ogledalu promjena - srpsko građanstvo u Bosni i Hercegovini 1918-194“ by dr. On this solemn occasion, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, University of Sarajevo Rector said: “1959 is important that the Institute of History of the University of Sarajevo began its work, whose subject of scientific research is the period of history from the early Middle Ages to the most recent days of our Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today, 60 years later, such an important institution of national importance has become a research center whose mission is not only to advance knowledge of the totality of historical events in one's own country, but to have the capacity to bring together various historiographic schools and become a meeting place for historians from the East and the West, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina has been the meeting point of various civilizations throughout its history. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on this significant anniversary with the desire to continue to be an institute in the future, dedicated to the origin of our human existence and tradition as a place of our identity and interconnectedness of all peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
The documentary-promotional film produced by the Institute “60 godina Instituta za historiju” was premiered at the ceremony and the program was complemented by a musical track performed by a successful group of Music Academy students “Inat Trio".
