University of Sarajevo Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Visits the University of Trieste | Strengthening Academic Cooperation

As part of the Erasmus+ KA171 program, Prof. Dr. Kemal Durić, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at the University of Sarajevo, visited the University of Trieste from 24 to 28 August 2026 to discuss existing cooperation and opportunities for its further development.

Cooperation between the two institutions has enabled international student and staff mobility. Through this partnership, students and staff from both institutions have the opportunity to participate in incoming and outgoing mobility programs, exchange academic and professional experiences, and establish contacts with colleagues at the partner institution.

During the visit, Vice-Rector Durić met with the University’s Rector, the representative responsible for international relations and mobility, and representatives of offices involved in internationalization activities. Discussions focused on the implementation of Erasmus+ cooperation to date, experiences in organizing mobility, and opportunities for improvement.

Particular attention was given to opportunities to expand cooperation into new areas and establish additional forms of academic and institutional collaboration. The meetings also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences in the internationalization of higher education.

The visit to the University of Trieste reaffirms the University of Sarajevo’s commitment to continuously enhancing international cooperation and developing partnerships with universities across Europe. The discussions held during the visit paved the way for closer ties between the two institutions and the exploration of new opportunities for cooperation benefiting students, academic staff, and administrative staff.
