Pravda

Digital collections have been enriched with a new title from the funds of the Periodicals of the National and University Library of BiH. It’s about the magazine “Pravda“ issued in Old Yugoslavia during the 1930s that was one of the most influential newspapers in our homeland. It was issued in Sarajevo every Friday, and gave its readers a political, social and cultural overview of the week. The first issue of Pravda was published on 22 February 1919, just days after the official founding of the Yugoslav Muslim Organization (JMO), whose leader was Mehmed Spaho.

At that time, the paper had various regular columns, as evidenced by the column “Friends write to us”, as well as numerous articles about the first Muslim FC “Đerzelez” from Sarajevo. Various cultural and artistic societies also had their place in Justice, which were founded out of the need to raise the cultural awareness of our people.

Therefore, we invite all users to visit our Digital Collection and get an insight into both this (PRAVDA), and other published material that the Digital Collections of the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina have.
