UNSA Faculty of Architecture Academic Staff Participated in the Conference “Comprehensive Approach to Disaster Risk Reduction in BiH”

At the recently held conference “Comprehensive Approach to Disaster Risk Reduction in BiH”, organized by the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, University of Sarajvo Faculty of Architecture faculty members participated in a panel discussion dedicated to the safety of school buildings and the application of the VISUS methodology.
Full professors Amir Čaušević and Nerman Rustempašić, and senior assistant Amina Mihmić, introduced the conference participants to the VISUS pilot project, which was implemented in 2022, with significant participation of students Mubina Ahmedspahić, Elma Jahić, Arnela Kolak, Maida Mehić and Nejla Mahović.
The conference brought together representatives of various sectors, including institutions, civil society, international organizations and the academic community, and emphasized the importance of preventive measures to reduce the effects of future disasters and strengthen the resilience of communities across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The event is supported by the joint program “Disaster Risk Reduction for Sustainable Development in BiH” with the support of the Government of Switzerland, the UN and the authorities of BiH. We would like to emphasize the importance of our partnership with UNESCO BiH, which was once again highlighted on this occasion
