Solo exhibition by Selma Selman at the Art Gallery of BiH

The Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina announces the opening of the central event of its summer program - a solo exhibition by the internationally recognized Bosnian artist Selma Selman. The curator of the exhibition is Amila Ramović, who in the past two years has collaborated with the artist in the development of the concept of the exhibition and the production of new cycles of her works, which will be presented for the first time on this occasion. This is Selma Selman's first solo exhibition in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

From 23/7/2021, the exhibition will be open to the public every day, except Sunday, from 10:00 to 20:00.

The duration of the exhibition is until 1 September 2021. Selma Selman's solo exhibition during the summer will be accompanied by program events aimed at her artistic and activist engagement, as well as the promotion of social cohesion and integration of marginalized groups in Bosnian society.

The exhibition is realized in partnership of the Art Gallery of BiH with the Association of ACTIONS, and a number of organizations and associates. The project was supported by the European Union and the Council of Europe through their joint program "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022".

Various partners and many friends participate in the production segments of the exhibition in cooperation with the ACTION Association and the SONEMUS Association. Selma Selman's solo exhibition was supported by UN agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with UNESCO, UNDP in BiH and Sweden, UNHCR and IOM, and the BiH Open Society Fund, University of Sarajevo, Ministry of Sports and Culture of Sarajevo Canton, Trust for Mutual Understanding as and other associates, institutions and organizations.

Selma Selman's solo exhibition is part of the project "Promotion of Diversity and Inclusion through the promotion of artistic and activist opus of members of the Roma community", supported by the European Union and the Council of Europe through its joint program "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022" .

A team of Bosnian art professionals is participating in the preparation of the exhibition. The coordinator of the exhibition is Hana Ćurak, a sociologist. The consultant in the production of the project is Aida Kalender, director of the ACTION Association. The creative team consists of Bojan Hadžihalilović, art director, Damir Šagolj, photographer and Sanda Popovac, architect of the exhibition, and a number of Bosnian workers in the field of art. The preparation of the exhibition is being conducted in cooperation with the team of the Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by the director Strajo Krsmanović.
