FPN Students at the Historical Museum on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of 1968 student protests

The Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Faculty of Political Sciences, the University of Sarajevo and the Association of Students of the Faculty of Political Science “SPONA”, organized a public lecture and a workshop entitled "Historical Eights – 1968” dedicated to the 50th anniversary of student protests from that year.
At the discussion moderated by Jasmin Hasanović, Assistant at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Prof. Dr. Asim Mujkić and Mirza Šaćiri, social and student activist spoke.
Professor Mujkić pointed out several features that contributed to the context of 1968 - and as particularly interesting, as was later confirmed by the discussion of the participants, there was the mood of war generations, their antiwar mood and aversion against the war, resulting in a critical review of established patterns and the norms of behavior that they had until then. Mirza Šaćiri pointed out the theoretical and philosophical contribution of 1968, but also the problem that only carries a theoretical problem-without having to enter the field with them and trying to articulate the demand. The project logic of activism, he pointed out, limited social and political activism in its reach.
The “Month of Museums” tradition is traditionally is celebrated in November for the third time, the month when the Museum was founded and this year, its program contents are dedicated to the cultural and historical heritage, the improvement of museum practice and the awareness of the importance of the museum. Also, one of the essential components of this year's “Month of Museums” is the linking of the Historical Museum with other socially responsible institutions, such as the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sarajevo.
