A group of Turkish students from the Sehir University in Istanbul visited the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Catholic Theology on Tuesday, 9 July 2019. The visit was organized within the “History of religions” summer school, during which students from the above mentioned University - among other things - have the opportunity to get to know the Bosnia and Herzegovina’s rich and diverse religious and cultural heritage. At the Faculty of Catholic Theology, the students were welcomed by Rev. Dr. Mario Bernadić, Assistant Professor at the Department of Dogmatic Theology with Mr. Sc. Igor Žontar, newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Holy See. Students from Turkey expressed vivid interest in the life and status of Catholics as well as the Catholic Church in BiH, and had numerous questions. During the visit, students from Turkey had the opportunity to visit the academic space and sacral premises at the Faculty Catholic Theology, as well as the high terrace with one of the most beautiful views in Sarajevo.
Otherwise, different students groups from the Sehir University in Istanbul have been visiting the Faculty of Catholic Theology in Sarajevo for three years in a row in the summer months, so there is strong likelihood for continuation of this practice in the future.
