A “Welcome Day” Organized for Foreign Students at the University of Sarajevo

The University of Sarajevo International Cooperation Department has prepared an orientation program to introduce foreign students, faculty members with the University of Sarajevo’s history, as well as with the tradition, culture and customs of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina along with all the necessary academic and practical information. Within the orientation program, at the University of Sarajevo’s Rectorate, a Welcome Day event was organized for foreign students in the 2019/2020 academic year winter semester on Monday, 30 September 2019. Foreign students were presented with the necessary academic and practical information and had the opportunity to meet BH students from the University of Sarajevo who also participated in exchange projects.  Foreign students will also tour important tourist destinations in Sarajevo and our country.
In early academic 2019/2020 winter semester,  34 foreign students from 11 countries - Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Serbia, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom - are coming to the University of Sarajevo. It is about scholarship laureates coming through various European Commission funded mobility programs, such as Erasmus+, CEEPUS, MEVLANA, the Visegrad Fund, but also through bilateral cooperation agreements framework between our and partner universities in the world. The duration of stay in our country ranges from one semester (5 months) to one academic year (10 months).
