Public lecture on Bosnian language in Dubrovnik
As part of the initiative of the Council of the Bosniak National Minority of the City of Zagreb, which organizes discussions on the Bosnian language and culture in order to inform and motivate the citizens from Bosnia and Herzegovina about the importance of organizing the teaching of the Bosnian language as C courses in elementary and secondary schools in the Republic of Croatia, the UNSA Language Institute held in Dubrovnik on Friday, 20 April 2018, an open lecture: Bosnian Language and Culture. Director of the Institute dr. sc. Alen Kalajdžija spoke about the Bosnian language and Bosniak cultural identity, mr. Erma Ramić-Kunić presented the medieval history of the Bosnian language with a special review on the Bosnian version of the Old Slavic language, while mr. Zenaida Karavdić spoke about the development of a standard Bosnian language and its relation to dialects. The President of the Council of the Bosniak National Minority of the County of Dubrovnik-Neretva Orhan Zubčević thanked the guest lecturers, visitors and friends and highlited the importance of the existence and activities of the Council of the Bosniak national minority in the Republic of Croatia.
