New edition of the Music Culture Jurnal Muzika dedicated to Prof. Dr. Ivan Čavlović

Novo izdanje Časopisa za muzičku kulturu “Muzika” posvećeno prof. dr. Ivanu Čavloviću

The Editorial Board dedicates The second issue of the Music Culture Journal Muzika in 2021 to the recently deceased Dr. Ivan Čavlović, professor emeritus of the Music Academy University of Sarajevo, who made an immeasurable contribution to Bosnian musicology. His work marked the war and post-war period of survival, construction and expansion of the activities of music science institutions. Prof. Čavlović is remembered as the founder of fundamental institutions and projects, today important actors in musicology, but also as the author of a number of scientific publications in historical, systematic and applied fields, based on his firm belief that musicology is the science of music in the broadest sense.

The editorial board, headed by the editor-in-chief Dr. Fatima Hadžić, wishes to express gratitude and pay tribute to Prof. Dr. Ivan Čavlović, the initiator and first long-term editor of the Music Culture Journal Muzika. Along with In memoriam "Departure of the Protector of Bosnian Musicology" by Amila Ramović, we publish the latest text by Dr. Čavlović, an essay on Beethoven and his Ninth Symphony on the occasion of the 250th  anniversary of his birth.

The authors of the published texts: Nerma Hodžić-Mulabegović, Senad Kazić, Ena Plakalo, Marija Ćirić, Alma Ferović-Fazlić, Sanja Nuhanović, Leon Stefanija, Merima Čaušević and Ivana Cerović also contributed to the realization of the new issue of "Music".
