Ministrica Husić-Mehmedović

The adopted Law on Amendments to the Law on Mitigation of Negative Economic Consequences and Savings in the Sarajevo Canton envisages assistance to the best students of the University of Sarajevo. Based on the parliamentary initiative of the chairman of the KS Assembly Elvedin Okerić and MP Damir Marjanović, a COVID measure to help the best students was adopted yesterday.

All students of the first and second cycle of studies, as well as students of integrated studies at the University of Sarajevo who finance their studies (in the status of self-financing student) and have a grade point average of at least 8.00, all passed exams from the previous year and do not renew studies in 2020/2021. Sarajevo Canton exempts from paying two thirds of tuition fees for 2020/2021. The remaining third of the tuition fee these students are required to pay by the end of the 2020/2021 academic year.

On this occasion, the Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth, Prof. Dr. Melika Husić-Mehmedović said that she was extremely grateful that the Government and the Assembly of KS recognized the importance of helping the student population, precisely through co-financing the education of the best students.
