The 9th Scholarship Fair, a significant event of this kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina Held!

58 exhibitors from 22 countries presented scholarships and financial support programs!

This year, the University of Sarajevo International Cooperation Department organized the "Scholarship Fair" for the ninth time. Recognizing the importance of mobility of students, teachers and associates in Europe and beyond, the International Department at the University of Sarajevo is a successful organizer of the Scholarships Fair - a unique manifestation of this kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina aiming to bringing together all institutions that award and/or administer scholarships or provide other types of financial support for studying in BiH and abroad, and enable them to present their scholarship and financial support programs and give opportunity to BiH students to receive all information about study opportunities abroad in one place.

The “Fair”, which was held at the University of Sarajevo on 18 October 2018, was opened by University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj. In his welcome address Rector Škrijelj pointed out that since its founding, the University of Sarajevo never knew the boundaries. “We are aware of the burden of the time in which we live, and with the organization of this fair we wanted to express our concern for the students, teachers and associates of our University, as well as for all other persons from Bosnia and Herzegovina who are keen on getting knowledge, learning and opportunities to educate themselves on the desired a higher education institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina or abroad” said Rector Škrijelj.

9. sajam stipendijaThe importance of this meeting was recognized by 58 institutions of which 12 are embassies and 26 European partner universities, and other governmental and non-governmental organizations. The visitors were also addressed by E. Anders Hagelberg, Ambassador of Sweden to BiH, H. E. Georgios Iliopoulos, Ambassador of Greece to BiH, and Sanjeev Manchanda, Second Secretary of the Embassy of India.

“The Ninth Scholarship Fair is part of the Second international staff training week, which is being held simultaneously in the Rectorate from 15 to 19 October 2018. The presence of these European partners speaks about the importance of internationalization in which the University of Sarajevo is very active including rising the awareness of academic and administrative mobility promotion, where this fair, in its way, has become a recognizable University of Sarajevo’s brand” said Rector Škrijelj.
