Kick off session for OPEN platform
After several months of work and preparation on the project, the International Relations Office of the University of Sarajevo on Thursday, March 4, 2020 presented the online platform OPEN (Opportunities Presence through European funds and other Networking in B&H and the region) for national, regional and European cooperation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also in the Western Balkans.
The project was written and applied by doc. dr. Hatidža Jahić (School of Economics and Business, University of Sarajevo) and M.Sc. Adnan Rahimić (Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo), in cooperation with the Western Balkan Alumni Association (WBAA). Inspired by the idea of presenting available project opportunities, as well as the fact that the world is going viral due to the Covid19 pandemic, the OPEN team applied the idea of launching an online portal in the summer of 2020, which will enable the collection and presentation of information on programs and funds for various project ideas intended for all interested parties in B&H and in the region from various sectors, as well as to enable online presentation of information on project calls of domestic, regional and international organizations.
The project team will launch a series of online lectures and presentations, starting with the first held by Mr. Albert Sesé Ballarta, Policy Officer in charge of the Western Balkans in the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture. Mr. Ballart spoke about the Erasmus + program, the benefits of the program, the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic, and what awaits us in the new Erasmus + program package 2021-2027, emphasizing certain changes when it comes to the participation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
