Team from the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences participated in the EMPHASIS Kosovo Pilot Testing event
The team from the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences participated in the EMPHASIS Kosovo Pilot Testing event, held from 6 to 10 July 2026 in Prishtina and hosted by Universum International College.
The Faculty and the University of Sarajevo were represented by Teofil Gavrić, Merima Makaš, Osman Musić and Sabrija Čadro, together with students Hana Kustura and Majida Šabović. The team actively contributed to presentations, discussions, practical activities, and the evaluation of the project results developed so far.
A particular focus was placed on presenting the educational module “Climate Awareness, Sustainability, and Resilience” and the learning content developed with the contribution of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences. The presented topics included sustainable and territorial food systems, hydroponic and bioponic cultivation, smart plant nutrition, circular economy approaches in fruit production, and data-driven, climate-resilient irrigation supported by digital decision-making tools.
An important part of the event was the hands-on testing of the EMPHASIS digital platform. Participants assessed its navigation and functionality, reviewed the user experience and examined multilingual educational content. The feedback collected during the event will be used to further improve both the platform and the learning materials before their wider implementation.
EMPHASIS is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project running until 30 November 2026. The project is developing five innovative educational modules, together with adapted sub-modules for people with fewer opportunities, combining sustainability, energy efficiency, green and digital skills, inclusive education and problem-based learning.
The next project phase will focus on refining the modules and digital platform, delivering training for students and higher education staff, establishing innovative hybrid learning laboratories and developing a Network of Higher Education Inclusive Education Centres. Planned activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina also include student training in Mostar and a dissemination event in Sarajevo.
These activities are important because they move the project from content development towards practical validation and implementation. By directly involving students, academic staff and other users, EMPHASIS helps ensure that its learning tools are relevant, accessible and applicable to the green and digital transformation of higher education.
