Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Bosnia and Herzegovina Visits the University of Sarajevo on the Occasion of the Inclusive Ski Sarajevo 2026 Project

H.E. Jana K. Lolić Šindelková, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Bosnia and Herzegovina, visited the University of Sarajevo on the occasion of the implementation of the Inclusive Ski Sarajevo 2026 project, which is the result of international academic cooperation and joint action in the field of inclusive sports.
During the meeting with the Rector, Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović and the Vice-Rector for Arts, Artistic Research, Culture and Sports, Prof. M.A. Arma Tanović Branković, the importance of the project, its long-term goals, and the possibilities of further strengthening cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and Czech partner institutions were discussed. The meeting was also attended by professors and students of the Faculty of Physical Education of the Palacký University in Olomouc, as well as representatives of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Sarajevo, which confirmed strong academic and professional support for the project.
The Inclusive Ski Sarajevo 2026 project will be implemented on 24 and 25 February 2026 on Bjelašnica, from 9:30 to 14:30.
This is a two-day program of free skiing training for people with disabilities, which is carried out with professional guidance and the application of modern methods in the field of adapted physical activity (APA). The project has a strong social significance for the Sarajevo Canton and represents an important step towards the development of inclusive sports practices in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The special value of the project is reflected in the fact that twenty people with developmental disabilities, who use wheelchairs or have difficulty moving, will have the opportunity to experience the joy of skiing for the first time, with the hope that Inclusive Ski Sarajevo will grow into a self-sustaining program of a regular ski school for children with disabilities, which would make sport a permanent space of inclusion, empowerment and belonging.
The project is being implemented in partnership with the University of Sarajevo, the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Sarajevo, ATUS BiH, Palacký University Olomouc – Faculty of Physical Activities, KJP ZOI '84 and the association “Give us a chance” as a continuation of successful international cooperation and knowledge exchange in the field of inclusive sport.
Today's visit by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic confirms the importance of the project at the international level, but also the commitment of the University of Sarajevo to contribute to building a more inclusive and just society through concrete initiatives.
