Presentation of the Project "Assessment of the State of Nature and Management of Natural Resources in Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSP BiH)" at the IPBES Workshop
At the IPBES (Intergovernmental Platform for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) workshop for the region of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, the process and results of the project "Assessment of the State of Nature and Management of Natural Resources in Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSP BiH)" were presented. The workshop was held in Skopje, North Macedonia, October 27-29, 2022. organized by the Institute for Biodiversity - Network e.V., Germany. On behalf of the project team, the presentation was held by prof. dr. Belma Kalamujić Stroil from the University of Sarajevo - Institute for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.
The University of Sarajevo is the coordinator of PSP BiH at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The implementation of the project is carried out by the Center for Ecology and Natural Resources "Akademik Sulejman Redžić", Faculty of Science and Mathematics, University of Sarajevo. The project is implemented in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism as a focal point for the implementation of IPBES in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project, full name "Supporting decision making and building capacity to support IPBES through national ecosystem assessments", is financed from the funds of the International Climate Initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (IKI) through a grant from the World Conservation Monitoring Center (WCMC), Cambridge, United Kingdom.
