APEL-WB Study Visit and Consortium Meeting at the University of Akureyri

From 22 to 25 September 2026, the University of Akureyri in Iceland hosted APEL-WB activities combining a study visit and training on Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) with a consortium meeting.

The training, held on 22 and 23 September, focused on the principles and process of APEL in higher education. The sessions covered application procedures, portfolio preparation, assessment methods and quality assurance. A practical workshop gave participants the opportunity to review a mock candidate’s portfolio and prepare questions for an assessment interview.

On 24 and 25 September, project partners met to discuss project progress and upcoming activities. Topics included the next steps for WP2 and its needs analysis, the work of the Quality Meeting Committee, dissemination, and future events.

The activities supported the exchange of knowledge and practical approaches to APEL, while helping partners coordinate the project’s next steps.
