The International Student Project 2025 Has Been Successfully Completed

The Faculty of Forestry, University of Sarajevo, had the honor of hosting the International Student Project 2025, organized by the Georg August University of Göttingen. The project was successfully implemented at the Forest Teaching and Research Site Čavle on Mount Igman from October 15 to November 4, 2025.
The project brought together forestry students from various parts of the world, participants of the Master’s program “Forest and Ecosystem Sciences (FES)” at the Georg August University of Göttingen, and students of the Faculty of Forestry, University of Sarajevo. Together, they took part in field research activities conducted in mixed beech–fir–spruce forests on Igman. The main objective was to develop a forest management plan based on ecological, silvicultural, and socioeconomic principles of sustainable forest management.
In addition to scientific and professional activities, the project provided participants with the opportunity to experience the rich culture, traditions, and hospitality of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to explore its remarkable natural beauty and cultural–historical landmarks.
Throughout the project, significant exchange of knowledge and experience took place among students and professors from different countries, contributing to a broader understanding of forestry science and to the strengthening of international cooperation in forestry education and research.
We believe that the experiences gained through this collaboration will contribute to raising awareness of the importance of forest conservation and the sustainable management of forest ecosystems at the global level.
