Yale University Publishes Policy Brief on Daily Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Focus on International Cooperation and the Role of the University of Sarajevo

The Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs has released a new Policy Brief titled “Everyday Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina” (2025), developed through collaboration between Yale’s Peacebuilding Initiative and the Institute for Development Impact (I4DI). The document explores how citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina perceive and sustain peace in daily life, and proposes a series of practical measures to strengthen social cohesion and institutional trust.

The Policy Brief emphasizes the importance of improving institutional literacy and clearer service standards, enhancing public communication and professional media practices, expanding transparent opportunities for youth, and strengthening ethical norms in education and public service. Additionally, the document highlights the significance of concrete initiatives that promote cooperation among communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A key aspect of the research process was the collaboration with the Faculty of Law at the University of Sarajevo, whose support was crucial in enabling and facilitating fieldwork. The authors expressed their gratitude to Prof. Dr. Zinka Grbo, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Sarajevo, for her essential support in partner coordination and valuable contributions to the research process.

The research was conducted in accordance with the ethical procedures of the University of Sarajevo and the standards for scientific research.
