Agreement on Academic Cooperation between Universities of Sarajevo and “Matej Bel” Signed
The ceremony of signing the Agreement on Academic Cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the University of Matej Bel (Slovakia) was held in the University of Sarajevo Rectorate on Tuesday, 13 March 2018.
The Agreement signed by Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, University of Sarajevo Rector and Prof. Dr. Vladimir Hiadlovsky, “Matej Bel” University Rector, was entered into with the aim of promoting academic, educational and cultural cooperation between these two institutions. The signed Agreement’s framework envisages institutional cooperation development through networking and mutual exchange of faculty, researchers, students for the purpose of lecturing, visiting and experience sharing; joint participation and registration for funds intended for educational, research and artistic activities; joint activities in the field of education, training and/or research; joint organization of conferences, symposia, congresses, seminars, courses, summer schools and workshops; exchange of professional literature, textbooks and other university publications; and other activities of common interest.
The Agreement signatories expressed great satisfaction with the achievement of cooperation that will be more mutually useful and open new opportunities.
In addition to the presentation of the “Matej Bel” University and University of Sarajevo’s international cooperation goals, the possibilities for further development of academic cooperation were presented during the meeting. UNSA Faculty of Political Sciences Dean, Prof. Dr. Šaćir Filandra presented the experience of successful cooperation with the Faculty of Political Sciences and International Relations at the “Matej Bel” University.
H.E. Martin Kačo, Slovakian Ambassador to BiH welcomed the cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and “Matej Bel” University who briefly presented the perspectives of academic cooperation between Slovakia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and reminded attendees of the long tradition of cooperation between two countries.
