Round table “1991: Political Processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Disintegration of Yugoslavia”

Okrugli sto "Godina 1991: Politički procesi u Bosni i Hercegovini u toku raspada Jugoslavije"

Organized by the Institute of History, the University of Sarajevo, on Wednesday 10 November 2021, at 10:30, a Round Table discussion “1991: Political Processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Disintegration of Yugoslavia” will be held in in the UNSA Rectorate Ceremonial Hall on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the dissolution process of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

 

The conference will focus on interpreting the break-up of the Yugoslav state union, discussing military and political events in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider context, and dealing with the region's and Bosnia and Herzegovina's recent past, post-Yugoslav perspective and transition. The goal is to shed light on the position of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of disintegration of the SFRY from the historical, but also sociological, legal and political aspects from a historical distance of three decades and thus create a multidisciplinary approach to the given topic.

 

Prof. Dr. Ejup Ganić, member of the wartime Presidency of the Republic of BiH, and 8 scientists from Sarajevo and Mostar will speak at the meeting. The meeting will be moderated by Dr. Sedad Bešlija, Institute of History Director.
