The exhibition “We have a Museum” opened on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Museum of Literature and Theater Arts of BiH

The exhibition “We Have a Museum”, by senior curator Đana Kukić, opened today at the MAK Gallery in Sarajevo, on the occasion of marking the 60th anniversary of the Museum of Literature and Theater Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The exhibition shows a part of the archives of this cultural institution during the six decades of its existence, among other things, selected materials and many museum editions that may not have been seen for a long time. The creative team of the Museum joined the work on the realization of the exhibition: Dejan Slavuljica, Tamara Sarajlić-Slavnić, Šejla Šehabović, and through the exhibition setting every day the visits are led by the volunteer team of the First Lyceum Sarajevo, led by Prof. Jesenka Jusko.

The director of the Museum of Literature and Theater Arts, Šejla Šehabović, reminded that this institution is celebrating 60 years, almost half of which exist as an institution without state care.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by the University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj and Vice-Rector For Art, Culture And Sports, Prof. Dr. Tamara Karača-beljak. On that occasion, they talked with the director of the Museum, Šejla Šehabović, and the senior curator, Đana Kukić, about possible forms of cooperation, and during the conversation, the current situation and the difficult position and status of the Museum were especially pointed out. Also, the importance of such projects was discussed, but also the need for a permanent solution to the status of cultural institutions.
