A presentation of the initiative Business ideas incubator at the University of Sarajevo was held in the UNSA Ceremonial Hall on Friday, 25 May 2018.

In addition to the initiative, the Youth Employment Project (YEP) was presented, within which the Business ideas incubator is being realized, as well as the logical framework and action plan for the project realization at the University of Sarajevo. About the topics were speaking Prof. Dr. Jasmin Halebić, Sarajevo Canton Minister of Finances, Mrs. Aida Musagić, Youth Employment Project representative and Prof. Dr. Muamer Halilbašić, Sarajevo Economics Institute director.

The YEP project, according to Prof. Dr. Aida Hodžić, UNSA Vice-Rector for Teaching and Student Affairs, is actually the actual implementation of what is being said all the time - from university to employment.
In Sarajevo Canton, that program focuses on the University of Sarajevo students, with the ultimate goal of creating sustainable jobs and modernizing the University in the direction of introducing entrepreneurship into the curriculum.

One of the many activities YEP implements, is the incubation of the business ideas of young people, i.e., how to get from the idea to a successful business.
“The YEP incubator is realized with different partners, and the University is very important for final year students to consider the option of what they have learned and what they want to work applied on the market, that is, designing a service or product that can be placed on the market and hire themselves and possibly other people” said Mrs. Aida Musagić, one of the mentors in the YEP Incubator of Business Ideas.

In the first phase, in 2018, in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics, the support will be given to final year students of all Faculties within the framework of the program of strengthening entrepreneurial skills, support in the preparation of prototype products and/or services, mentoring in the preparation of a business model and business plan, legal and bookkeeping support in choosing the optimal legal status of a future business. After the initial process of incubation and professional support, YEP will, in partnership with the University of Sarajevo and the Sarajevo Canton Government, provide further support to the most promising business ventures.

SC Minister of Finances Prof.  Halebić said that they have already allocated 50,000 BAM to join with the project funds, thus forming joint initial funds that will be spent through the YEP Incubator project. “We also have a Credit Guarantee Fund of KS in cooperation with the Sarajevo Development Agency, which now has about ten million KM of credit potential. We need young entrepreneurs who would practically take advantage of these credit resources, open their businesses in the KS in an easier way, and create a new value” added Minister Halebić.
