UNSA Art Days: Three art academies presented seven program contents

Dani umjetnosti UNSA: Tri umjetničke akademije predstavile sedam programskih sadržaja

Two sets of short films by students of the Academy of Performing Arts (ASU) and conversations with authors, a performance by students of the Department of Acting, three concerts by teachers and students of the Academy of Music (MAS), and an exhibition of the best works of students of all departments of the Academy of Fine Arts were content of the University of Sarajevo Arts Days held from 25 to 27 June 2021.

For three days, art was the central theme of UNSA and the activity of the entire University, and the Days of Art were a kind of promotion of enrollment not only at art academies but also at the University of Sarajevo.

On the third day of the UNSA Art Day, three events were organized: an exhibition of the best student works in the Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts, a concert in the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, short films by students of the Academy of Performing Arts and talks with authors

ALU GALLERY

EXHIBITION OF THE BEST STUDENT WORKS CREATED IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2020/21.

Given the current situation caused by the COVID-19 virus pandemic and the inability of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Sarajevo to organize an annual student exhibition in individual student classes of all academic years, this year's exhibition of the best student works was organized in forms of collective exhibition in the premises of the gallery and corridor of ALU.

The best student works from the academic year 2020/21. from individual ALU Departments, which were selected by teaching professors and with the help of the ALU Gallery Council, were exhibited in the format of a collective exhibition in the period 26/06 – 09/07/2021.

The aim of the exhibition is to present how and in what way the teaching-artistic process took place within the specific circumstances that marked the previous academic year, and how students reacted to the subject tasks and the current social situation through various media, strategies and ways of artistic activity. The collective exhibition presents a wide range of artistic ideas, suggestions and answers that students of all Departments have offered in the past two semesters given the specific conditions and challenges they found themselves in.

Dario Vučić, organ

YeonJu Jeong was born in Seoul in 1982. She started playing the violin at the age of five. After graduating from Yewon School of Art and Seoul Art High School, she earned a degree in higher education from YeonSe University in Seoul in the class of prof. Young Mi Cho. In 2011 she acquired the title of graduate student (Doctoral study) in music art in the class of prof. Sergei Kravchenko. The First Prize at the Music and Country competition, which she won in 2011 in Bulgaria, is especially important. As a soloist and in chamber ensembles, she has performed in the most prestigious concert halls in Moscow, Athens, Zagreb, Sofia, Łańcut, Völs am Schlern, Dubrovnik, New York, Seoul, Sombor, Opatija, Banja Luka, Sarajevo. She has collaborated with the Se Jong Philharmonic Orchestra and the FVG Orchestra Mitteleurope. She led a music workshop as part of the Sarajevo Chamber Music Festival, a master class in violin at the Music Academy in Zagreb and at the Elly Bašić Music School in Zagreb. She is a regular member of the jury at the international competition "Petar Konjović" in Belgrade. Jeong lives in Sarajevo where she works as an associate professor of violin at the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo, and where since 2011 she has passed all the titles of assistant.

Dario Vučić was born in 1980 in Sarajevo. He graduated from the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo, Department of Conducting (class of Prof. Julio Marić, MA) and Department of Composition (class of Prof. Anđelka Bego Šimunić, MA and Prof. Dino Rešidbegović, PhD). He is employed at the Opera of the National Theater Sarajevo as a conductor and at the Music Academy as an assistant professor and head of the Conducting Department. As an accompanist and conductor, he worked with various choirs, orchestras and eminent soloists. His compositions are performed in many countries. He played as an organist of the Sarajevo Cathedral from 1995 to 2015, and as an organist of the Cathedral Mixed Choir "Josip Stadler" from Sarajevo from 1996 to 2007. He was the director of the National Theater Sarajevo in the period from 2011 to 2013 and several times c. d. artistic director of the Opera of the National Theater Sarajevo. He is the founder and a member of Naraka’s trio "Magis" (2003). He was the vice president of HKD Napredak from 2009 to 2012.

Lucija Mesarek was born in 1998 in Čakovec. Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo, direction Trumpet in the class of prof. Marina Zokić enrolled in 2017, and for two years she has been in the class of Doc. Mr. Admir Vračo. During her music education, she won numerous awards at music student competitions. She participated in seminars and lectures of the most distinguished trumpet professors from the region. In addition to her performing activities, she is the initiator and organizer of various projects aimed at promoting the culture and motivation of young people, with the desire to launch a series of concerts in which young musicians would participate and gain concert practice.

Benjamin Drijenčić was born in 1999 in Zenica. He first studied at the Academy of Arts at the University of Banja Luka, in the class of Prof. Nenad Marković, and then continued his studies at the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo in the class of Doz. Mr. Admir Vračo. During his education, he participated in the Federal competition of music students. He established cooperation with the Chamber Symphony Orchestra of Zenica, the Police Orchestra of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska and the Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defense "Stanislav Binicki". He has performed in France, Austria, Slovenia, Serbia and Turkey.

ASU STUDENTS- SHORT FILMS AND INTERVIEWS WITH AUTHORS:

1. MY DAD CLOWN, Sara Ristić, 24 min., 2020.

Like many parents, Sara’s are divorced. Unlike some fathers, Sara’s is a professional clown. After a major life event, Sara gets a chance to finally spend time with her dad and meet the person behind the clown.

Sara Ristić is a graduate student in the study of Multimedia Directing at the Academy of Performing Arts. He is currently finishing his graduation play, adaptation of the novel "The Little Prince" and a short film under the auspices of the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation on the topic "What does BiH mean to you".

2. THE CITY I HATE, Gabrijel Lazić, 20 min., 2020

Gabrijel Lazić, born in Pula, came to Sarajevo in search of his dreams - to study and then become a director. However, by the time this film was made, he had been in Sarajevo for three years and was not at all satisfied with his life. He meets three other girls, Emma, ​​Cat and Mio, who also came to Sarajevo in search of their happiness, but they found her here. The film deals with the issue of finding happiness and fulfilling dreams, and questions how the toponym affects these factors.

Gabrijel Lazić was born in Pula in 1995. During his primary and secondary education, he was involved in various drama sections, and played in children's and dance performances produced by the Istrian National Theater. The mentioned theater plays a big role in his life because it gives him an insight into the creative process of working on the play, which encourages him to enroll in the academy. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo at the Department of Multimedia Directing, where he is currently completing his undergraduate studies.

3. ŠMRK, Alen Šimić, 13 min.

Šmrk is trying to find his space in a transitional society. Instead, he encounters obstacles related to his troubled past that indicate to him that the transition of the individual is not possible.

Alen Šimić was born in 1988 in Tuzla, where he received his primary and secondary education. After studying production in his hometown, he enrolled in the Department of Directing at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo, where he acquired a BA in 2014.

4. AUTOREFLECTION IN THREE EPISODES, Sara Ristić, 13 min., 2019.

A look at three stylistically separate but emotionally connected episodes that examine the nature of the identity of a young woman and an artist.

5. TICA, Alen Šimić, 20 min., 2018.

Tica, a war orphan, comes to Sarajevo with her newborn daughter for emergency surgery. In the big city, he embarks on a night in which the demons of the past are patiently waiting for him.
