On Wednesday, 27 February 2019, Prof. Adam W. Jelonek, Rector’s Representative for Internationalization, Jagiellonian University in Krakow (Poland), visited the University of Sarajevo’s Rectorate and had a meeting with Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj.


The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Aida Hodžić, UNSA Vice-Rector for Teaching and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Nikolić, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Maida Čohodar - Husić, Vice-Rector for Quality, Prof. Dr. Dženana Husremović, Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Dr. Melika Husić Mehmedović, Prof. Dr. Ksenija Kondali and the Vice Deans for the Teaching from the University of Sarajevo organizational units.


During the course of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Nikolić and Prof. Dr. Dženana Husremović presented the activities and development of the University of Sarajevo and future plans when it comes to UNSA international cooperation and research activities.


Prof. Dr. Melika Husić-Mehmedović presented the activities at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on interdisciplinary education of a new generation of BH experts as well as from the Southeast Europe countries.


During the meeting, the current state of higher education in Poland and Bosnia and Herzegovina was discussed, as well as the position of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, as one of the largest universities in Central Europe with the longest academic history in Poland and the world.


During the meeting, concrete steps for future cooperation between the two universities were discussed, with the emphasis on the possibility of organizing joint study programs from the field of international relations and European studies, as well as on the possibility of exchanging students and faculty members within various programs and projects.
