The Ambassador of Egypt visited the University of Sarajevo - Renewal of academic cooperation between UNSA and Ain Shams University

Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bosnia and Herzegovina H.E., Yasser Sorour visited the University of Sarajevo, where he met with Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Dr. Jasna Bošnjović, head of the Service for International Cooperation and M.Sc. Miroslav Živanović, Head of the Rector's Cabinet.

With the expressed determination to continue the successful cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the meeting they discussed the strengthening of ties through various models of academic and cultural cooperation, as well as the intensification of the existing cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and universities in Egypt.

It was agreed to renew academic cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and Ain Shams University in Cairo, which began in 2007, and which will be formalized by signing an agreement on academic cooperation.

Also, during the meeting, ideas were exchanged about possible areas of cooperation, the realization of cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and universities in Egypt, the organization of joint online courses and seminars, as well as the exchange of students and teachers, and the provision of short-term training and joint research. The topics of the conversation were programs for improving and learning the Arabic language at universities in Egypt, scholarships for Arabic students provided by the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the previous support of the Embassy of Egypt to the Faculty of Philosophy through the engagement of proofreaders - native speakers of the Arabic language.

The hope was expressed that the processes of intensifying the existing and achieving new forms of cooperation will be successful, as well as the strengthening of cultural ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Egypt.
