Historic result at the Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad!
The Association of Mathematicians of Sarajevo Canton (UMKS), which was founded on the initiative of members of the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Science, University of Sarajevo, is pleased to announce the historical result achieved at the Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad.
The 25th Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (JBMO 2021), the most prestigious competition for primary school students in this part of Europe, has ended. 128 competitors from 21 countries (11 guests and 10 Balkan countries) participated.
- Benjamin Mujkić officially won first place and a gold medal, with the maximum number of points!
- Sara Smajić won a silver medal!
- Bronze medal winners are Andrej Krčmar, Abdullah Fehratbegović, Senada Zaketović and Filip Krištić.
The team leaders were Sead Delalić and Bojan Pazin.
The team of Bosnia and Herzegovina won the team 4th place, behind Romania, Turkey and Bulgaria, and ahead of Serbia, Moldova, S. Macedonia, Greece ...
The Association of Mathematicians of the Sarajevo Canton (UMKS) is an association of citizens interested in improving all aspects of mathematical sciences and their applications in the Sarajevo Canton. It was founded in 2016 on the initiative of members of the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of UNSA, and brings together students, teachers, academic staff and other mathematicians from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The goals of the Association are expansion and development of all mathematical disciplines and their applications, improvement of mathematics teaching at all levels of education, raising the level of professional and scientific knowledge of the Association members by organizing mathematical conferences of domestic and international character, professional and scientific lectures, seminars, conferences, symposia and talks.
