A concert of the MAS Piano Department was held as part of the 14th "May Music Festival"

As part of the program of this year's edition of the "May Music Festival" festival, which will include two concerts by the Piano Department of the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo, the first presentation of students was organized. The concert was held on 31 May 2021, in the Concert Hall "Cvjetko Rihtman" (Hall of the High School of Music Sarajevo), and on that occasion performed Esma Babić, Amina Mujalo and Amila Rančić, students in the class of Prof. Mr. Sc. Višnja Bakalar, Nadir Hošić, student Prof. Mr. Sc. Dragan Opančić, and Josipa Bošnjak, Sara Ljevak and Selma Teskeredžić, students Doz. Mr.Sc.  Azra Medić.

Esma Babić, a second-year student, performed “Symphony”, the first movement from Johanna Sebastian Bach's Partitira BWV 826 in C minor (1685-1750), and Nadir Hošić, a second-cycle student, presented an interpretation of the BWV 974 Concerto in d. minor by Johann Sebastian Bach, which is a transcription of Alessandro Marcello's O D Concerto S D935. The program also includes two compositions from the opus of Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849), an affirmer of Polish musical romanticism. His "Nocturno" no. 20 op. posth. Amina Mujalo, a third-year student, played in C minor, after which Amila Rančić, a graduate student, performed the first movement Allegro maestoso from Chopin's Sonata no. 3 op. 58 and “Petrarch's Sonnet” 104, p. 161 no. 5 in E major by Franz Liszt (1811-1886). Josipa Bošnjak, a first-year student, interpreted the Etude op. 33 no. 8 in G minor by the Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873-1943), while third-year students Sara Ljevak, Selma Teskeredžić and Amina Mujalo played etudes from Op. 8, created in the early creative phase of Aleksandar Scriabin (1871-1915).

According to epidemiological measures and orders of the competent institutions, the number of visitors was limited. The interested audience, who did not attend this event due to the mentioned restrictions, can watch the recording of the concert on the official YouTube channel of the MAS Concert Season.
