Towards the new Concert Season of the Music Academy, University of Sarajevo

The Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo is pleased to announce the 2021/22 Concert Season which will be realized throughout the academic year as a result of enthusiasm and joint engagement of teachers, associates, students and friends of this institution which, in addition to educational and scientific research, focuses a significant part of its activities on the production of artistic events. By organizing about thirty public concerts a year, with the aim of presenting the results of pedagogical work and artistic development of students, the Academy of Music has positioned itself as one of the key creators of musical life in the Bosnian context. By continuously designing and placing artistically relevant productions that affirm emancipatory values, this institution once again justifies its social role.

The concert season 2021/22 will be opened with a gala concert by teachers and associates of the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo. This event will be held on Tuesday, 9 November 2021 at 19:00, in the "Cvjetko Rihtman" Concert Hall.

As part of the first part of this year's season, on 25 November, there will be a concert of premieres of works by Bosnian composers, sponsored by the Association of Composers - Music Composers AMUS.

The November and December repertoire will include guest appearances by renowned musicians and pedagogues, so on 29 and 30 November Gottlieb Wallisch, professor of piano at the University of Arts in Berlin, will visit the Erasmus+ program at the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo. In addition to the planned seminar, his recital will be organized on that occasion. Guitarist Jure Cerkovnik from the University of Art in Zurich will perform on 4 December, and a few days later, on 9 December, there will be a concert by pianist and assistant at the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo, Zlatan Božuta, who will perform with the Sarajevo Philharmonic under the baton of Robert Homen. As a result of cooperation between the Sarajevo Academy of Music and the Faculty of Music at the University of Arts in Belgrade, a seminar by Professor Lidija Stanković and a joint concert by piano students from the two institutions will be organized on 16 December. The recital of Belma Alić, cellist and professor at the Music Academy of the University of Sarajevo, has been announced for February 2022.

As part of the first part of this year's concert season, student performances will be organized, and the recital of the young violinist Alex Mateescu, a third-year student in the class of Doz. Mr. Sc. Marko Simović, whose presentation will be held on 7 December.

Admission to all concerts is free, and given the restrictions due to epidemiological measures and orders of the competent institutions, seat reservations are required and can be made by phone at: 062 102 569.

All planned concerts for 2021/2022 are realized with the support of the Foundation for Music, Performing and Fine Arts, as well as the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Culture and Sports.
