RK BiH: Working and ceremonial session - Plaques awarded to prominent individuals

The University of Sarajevo, which took over the chairmanship of the Rectors' Conference of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the University of Zenica on 1 January 2022, hosted the first working session held on 8 February 2022. The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, University of Sarajevo Rector and new Rectors' Conference of BiH president in 2022.

At its first session, the Assembly of the Rectors' Conference of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the Report on the Work of the Rectors' Conference of BiH for 2021 and the Financial Report of that body for 2021.

As it was emphasized at the session, there is a quality long-term cooperation between public universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, and in accordance with that, the Rectors' Conference discussed possible forms of future cooperation with rectors' conferences in the region.

On the occasion of 8 February - the Day of the Rectors' Conference of BiH, and after the working session, a session was held at which plaques were awarded to prominent professors who contributed to the development and work of public universities from which they come, as well as higher education in general in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The winners of the Rectors' Conference “Plaque” for their outstanding contribution to the development of universities through outstanding work in the scientific, teaching and professional fields, and spreading the reputation of universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, are: Academician Dr. Dragoljub Mirjanić (University of Banja Luka), Prof. Dr. Atif Hodžić (University of Bihać), academician Dr. Mladen Bevanda (University of Mostar), Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović (University of Sarajevo), Prof. Dr. Izudin Kapetanović (University of Tuzla), Prof. Dr. Jusuf Duraković (University of Zenica), Prof. Dr. Fuad Hadžikadunić (University of Zenica), and posthumously Prof. Dr. Hasan Muratović, professor emeritus of the University of Sarajevo, posthumously Prof. Dr. Elvedin-Edo Hanić, professor emeritus Džemal Bijedić University of Mostar, and posthumously Prof. Dr. Safet Krkić - Džemal Bijedić University of Mostar.
