Prof. Dr. Jasmina Talam from the UNSA Academy of Music elected a member of the ICTM Executive Board

Prof. dr. Jasmina Talam sa Muzičke akademije UNSA izabrana za članicu Izvršnog odbora ICTM-a

The International Folk Music Council (ICTM), today the International Council for Traditional Music (ICTM), was formed under the auspices of UNESCO on 22 September 1947 in London in order to study, document, protect and understand traditional music in more detail, including folk, popular, classical and urban music and dance from all over the world. The first president was Ralph Vaughan Williams, followed by Jaap Kunst, Zoltan Kodaly and a number of other important ethnomusicologists. Today, ICTM has more than 1,500 members from 118 countries.

At the 45th  Annual Assembly of ICTM held on 24 July 2021, Prof. Talam was elected a member of the Executive Board for the period 2021-2027. years. Professor Talam has been elected Chair of the ICTM Committee for Middle East and Central Asia, and a member of the ICTM Archives and ICTM Publishing Committee. In the previous period, Prof. Talam served as chair of the ICTM National Committee in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
