Prof. dr. Zlata Grebo

Prof. Dr. Zlata Grebo, professor and first dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Sarajevo, noted researcher in the area of demography and sociology passed away in Sarajevo on 26 April 2019.
In 1966, Zlata Grebo became a full professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo, on subject. She studied demographic policies and the role of women in the development of society, and participated in the preparation of methodology for the 1971 census.
She taught at numerous universities and participated in scientific meetings in the country and abroad. At the World Congress of Women in Helsinki in 1969 she was a member of the Yugoslav delegation. She published several research papers and authored the book “Wish and fear of the Yugoslavian woman” (1965).
She was the Faculty of Political Sciences Dean from 1975 to 1977 and the President of the University Council from 1981 to 1983. She is the laureate of the Veselin Masleša Award (1976) for scientific achievements in the field of social sciences.

The commemoration will be held on Tuesday, 30 April 2019 at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Sarajevo (room 12), at 11:00.

The burial will be at the Bare Cemetery on the same day at 14:15.
