The announced cooperation between Soochow University and the University of Sarajevo

President of Soochow University Dr. Sidong Xiong and Director of the International Cooperation Office Dr. Qiao Zhang visited the University of Sarajevo on Wednesday, 15 May 2019, where they met with Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Nikolić, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Prof. Sanja Burić, Vice-Rector for Arts, Culture and Sports. The meeting was also attended by the co-directors of the Confucius Institute of the University of Sarajevo, La Weixin and Miroslav Živanović.
During the meeting, the importance of inter-university cooperation was discussed, and the possibilities of academic cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the Soochow University from China considered. Promotion of academic, educational and cultural cooperation that would include networking and mutual exchange of teachers, researchers, students and other staff. Cooperation would include joint development and research projects, organization of joint doctoral studies, cooperation in academic training and research, and research into the possibility of joint establishment of laboratories, joint organization of conferences, and other activities of common interest were discussed.
The meeting was concluded with the expressed readiness of the representatives of the University of Sarajevo and the Soochow University for the realization of institutional cooperation and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, and in the following period the necessary administrative procedures will be taken.
