Visit of the UN Working Group on Forced and Involuntary Disappearances to the UNSA Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies

The University of Sarajevo Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies had the pleasure and privilege to host members of the United Nations Working Group on Forced and Involuntary Disappearances on 13 February 2019: Prof. Dr. Bernard Duhaime (Canada), Prof. Dr. Tae-Ung Baik (Republic of Korea), Executive Director of the Foundation for Human Rights and Democracy, Houria Es-Slami (Morocco), Prof. Dr. Henrikasa Mickevičius (Lithuania) and Attorney-at-Law Mr. Luciano A. Hazana.
By the Resolution 20, the United Nations General Assembly established the Human Rights Commission on 29February 1980. Within the Commission, a Working Group on Forced and Involuntary Disappearances was established with the aim of providing assistance to families of victims in finding out the truth about missing family members, as well as state institutions whose mandate addresses these issues.
In the premises of the Dean of the Faculty of Criminal Justice, Criminology and Security Studies, a consultative meeting of academic staff was held with the members of the working group and their associates, in the presence of the Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Jasminka Džumhur, in which issues of investigation of missing persons and others structural problems related to missing persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Members of the academic staff at the Faculty of Criminology, Criminology and Security Studies, and the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Nedžad Korajlić, Prof. Dr. Jasmin Ahić, Prof. Dr Sakib Softić, Prof. Dr. Lada Sadiković, Prof. Dr Dina Bajraktarević Pajević, prof. Marija Lučić-Ćatić, PhD, Prof. Dr Edina Becirevic, prof. Prof. Dr. Haris Halilović, Prof. Dr Muamer Kavazovic, senior ass. Dr.Sci. Adnan Fazlić and Ass. Mirza Buljubašić, MA, actively participated in a consultative meeting with members of the Working Group on Forced and Involuntary Disappearances of the United Nations once again confirmed that the FKKSS Educational Ensemble represents a relevant international factor that provides a significant contribution to international entities in solving the essential problems of the Bosnian society.
