IN MEMORIAM

Teodor Romanić (1926-2019), a distinguished conductor, professor and academician passed away in Sarajevo.

Professor Romanić, born in Bjelovar, became a one of Sarajevo crowd in 1956, when he came to the newly opened Sarajevo Academy of Music, where he worked as an Assistant to a regular professor on the subjects of conducting, playing the score, the orchestra and the opera studio. He was the Dean in two terms and director of the Sarajevo Opera and Philharmonics. In his career he conducted numerous operatic performances and symphony concerts both in the country and abroad. From his class, a large number of active and successful conductors and teachers came out. He composed, published four books, two on conducting practice, about playing the score and about the music life of Sarajevo. He is the winner of the 6th of April City of Sarajevo Award.
