The Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton visited the UNSA Faculty of Electrical Engineering

Minister for Science, Higher Education and Youth Prof. Ph.D. Adna Mesihović visited the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Sarajevo, where the dean of this faculty is prof. Ph.D. Jasmin Velagić presented the study programs, projects and planned activities of this higher education institution.

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering is an internationally accredited institution of high teaching and scientific standards.

“With excellent university and professional study programs, high-quality study conditions, exceptional laboratory resources and research infrastructure, academic staff with high-quality scientific and professional knowledge, we represent an institution that guarantees the education of top experts capable of quick and successful inclusion in the global labor market,” said Dean Velagić.

Through cooperation with strong foreign industrial partners, the faculty secures scholarships, initiates projects related to the latest technologies, and participates in European initiatives, especially focused on heterogeneous robotic systems.

“Our commitment to quality is reflected in the publication of 150 scientific papers per year and the implementation of over 20 scientific research projects. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering actively contributes to the transfer of knowledge, raising competencies and overall economic and social development, with a focus on a motivated and satisfied community of students and employees, creating a pleasant working and pleasant environment”, Prof. Dr. Velagić concluded his address.

One of the strategic goals of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering is to innovate curricula in accordance with contemporary technological and social trends. One of the essential goals of the ETF is to launch a three-year first study cycle in English called “Data Science and Artificial Intelligence”. The course is intended for all interested candidates from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad who want to acquire and expand their knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence data science.

The distance learning program at this college provides flexibility and convenience, allowing students from diverse backgrounds to access high-quality education. Although these developments are still not so evident in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the goal of launching a new study program is to open up new opportunities and perspectives for the industrial environment and development, as well as for the private and public sector both within Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the wider region.

“The Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo, with all its international accreditations and modern study programs, educates high-quality, capable, creative and internationally recognized staff. Their planned new three-year study program is just one of the proofs of their commitment to continuous modernization and improvement of study programs. I am extremely proud when I can recognize a strong commitment to high standards of education, research and cooperation with international partners. The Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth KS recognizes this faculty as an important partner in developing excellence in higher education, as well as in activities supporting scientific activity. As before, we will strive to support all those projects of the Faculty that aim to connect and network young scientists from various scientific fields in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond, with the aim of achieving academic and scientific excellence, international accreditation and modernization of study programs” concluded Minister Mesihović.
