KS Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth of and University of Sarajevo Rector visited INGEB, Faculties of Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine

KS Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth, Prof. Dr. Melika Husić-Mehmedović and University of Sarajevo Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, together with Prof. Dr. Arzija Pašalić, President of the Council of the Group of Medical Sciences, continued visits to UNSA organizational units 29 January 2021. On this occasion they visited Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

The visits are a continuation of previously held and planned touring of UNSA organizational units with the aim of opening talks on the new Law on Higher Education that is currently being drafted, on modalities of investing in scientific research, and conducting teaching and research activities. Minister Husić-Mehmedović was presented with the infrastructural capacities, as well as the circumstances in which online classes are conducted at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine, as well as the emergency work regime at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.

During the visit, the leaders of all three organizational units presented to Minister Husić-Mehmedović the key activities and results of their work, and especially emphasized the achievements in international cooperation, especially emphasizing work on international research and development projects, as well as maintaining and strengthening cooperation with international partners.

Minister Husić-Mehmedović pointed out that the newly established Ministry will make strong efforts to improve cooperation with the aim of developing the University of Sarajevo and its organizational units, and expressed confidence that the new Law on Higher Education and the new Law on Scientific Research will create a stimulating environment for reforming existing and underdeveloped segments of the teaching and scientific process and thus encourage their more significant development.
