“University of Sarajevo Golden Badges”: the youth will remain in a knowledge-based society

Harun Išerić, PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo, Demir Papić, enrolled in Master of Science degree course at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and Abdulah Jašarević, a student of the second cycle of Physics studies, received the Golden Badge of the University of Sarajevo.
On 12 December 2018, they were received by the Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister, Mr. Adem Zolj, Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Prof. Dr. Elvir Kazazović and UNSA Rector, Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj.
“We hear from our colleagues who went that they just did this because of the injustice that has been here for a long time and has piled up. We must therefore work to create a more honest society based on values that are opposite to those that, unfortunately, prevail today: clientelism, nepotism, and so forth” said Išerić, pointing out that it is the task of each individual to make a society more equitable.
In thanking to the University, the KS Ministry and the Government who started the program of recruiting the 150 best students from the University of Sarajevo, Išerić, Papić and Jašarević pointed to the necessity of allocating larger funds precisely for scientific projects, research, scientific work and better linking and networking with the profession all around the world.
The results of reform processes in education are visible, the new Law helps students, and according to the announcements of Prime Minister Zolj and Minister Kazazović, an additional 23 million BAM is planned for the next year in the budget for education, where a part of these funds will be aimed at improving science and research work.
