Federal Police Administration Deputy Director, Ensad Korman, held a meeting with the UNSA Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies Dean, Prof. Dr. Nedžad Korajlić and the representative of the Association “New Security Initiative from Sarajevo”, concerning the “Determining the factors and processes leading to radicalization, extremism and terrorism in Bosnia and Herzegovina – DeFRET” project implementation which has been implemented by those partners.

The project’s overall aim is to engage and strengthen research capacities of the academic community and civil society in the fight against radicalization, leading to violent extremism. The project’s specific objective is investigating the influence of returnees from the foreign war zones on the local community and the youth.

Given that one of the basic responsibilities of the Federal Police Administration is combating terrorism, extremism and violent radicalism in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, therefore it is one of key factors in the process of deradicalization of BiH citizens returning from foreign warzones, at the meeting was agreed to cooperate and take joint action within the project.

When it comes to the issues mentioned by the Federal Police Administration, this body continuously acts and carries out activities within its competence, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies on the implementation of the BH Strategy for Prevention and Combating Terrorism (2015-2020), so the agreed activities follow the path in the direction of implementing the previously set goals.

In addition to this, at the meeting were agreed to organize training to combat cybercrime and other specialist trainings to be provided by the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies in the forthcoming period to the Federal Police Administration.
