The 28th Annual Conferences of the European Criminological Association

A press conference was held at the UNSA Rectorate on Wednesday, 10 January 2018 during which the upcoming event: Crimes against Human and Crimes against Humanity Conference: Implications for Modern Criminology was presented.

The UNSA Faculty of Criminology and Security Studies is the organizer of the second largest criminological event in the world: the 28th Annual Conferences of the European Criminological Association’s Crimes against Humanity and Crimes against Humanity: Implications for Modern Criminology.
This year's conference will be held in the UNSA Campus from 29 August to 01 September 2018 and is expected to host approx. 1,500 participants from over 70 countries.

The press conference was attended by Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, UNSA Rector, Prof. Dr. Nedžad Korajlić, Faculty of Criminology and Security Studies dean, and Prof. Dr. Almir Maljević, International Cooperation coordinator at the Faculty and President of the Conference’s Organizing Committee.

The very conference Crimes against Human and Crimes against Humanity Conference: Implications for Modern Criminology has great scientific significance for Bosnia and Herzegovina, because the world's greatest criminological theorists are coming to Sarajevo, authors of the most famous and most effective theories explaining the behavior of the perpetrators of crimes.

The conference will also be realized within four plenary sessions and 300 parallel sessions over four days period. The topics to be addressed include a number of issues, from daily crime (property, etc.), through organized crime, to the toughest forms of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The conference is expected to involve around 1500 participants and the arrival of representatives of the largest publishing houses such as Oxford University Press, Springer, Rutledge and many others who pay special attention to the latest editions and scientific achievements in areas studying unlawful behavior, offenses and the reaction of society to such behaviors.

This important event for both the University of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina will inspire young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina to engage more actively in the process of studying, critical thinking, developing numerous ideas and thus contributing to the development of science in B-H.
