The University of Sarajevo Faculty of Law in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Bosnia and Herzegovina Representative Office organizes the first Academy of European Integration ““Legal, Political and Social Aspects of B&H European Integrations Process.”

Through the Academy, the aim of the Faculty of Law is to work together with civil society and the judicial community, together with political participation, to raise the level of knowledge and awareness of the issues of Europeanization, European law, as well as accentuating the problems Bosnia and Herzegovina regards with the rule of law law, transitional justice, constitutional judgments and the position of constitutional courts in the legal and political system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, minority rights, the implementation of decisions of the European Court of Human Rights, economic and social rights, corruption, civilian victims of war and the like.

The Academy's realization consists of two parts:

Part I - A general overview of the European integration process. Experiences, challenges and opportunities

  • Karsten Dümmel - Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Bosnia and Herzegovina Director
  • Rasim Ibrahimagić - European Integration Monitoring Initiative BiH representative
  • Sanja Ramić - Directorate for European Integration in BiH / Department of Political Affairs, Justice and Home Affairs, Regional and Sectoral Policies

Part II - Legal, Political and Social Aspects of the European Integration Process of Bosnia and Herzegovina

  • Doz. Dr. Amila Ždralović (Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo) – “About (non)merits of collective rights. Models for Overcoming Ethnic Collective Representation in the Political System of Bosnia and Herzegovina”
  • Doz. Dr. Lejla Balić (Faculty of Law in Sarajevo) - The role of national parliaments in the legal system of the European Union - a review of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and / or “Representative democracy in the European Union”
  • Doz. Dr. Damir Banović (Faculty of Law in Sarajevo) – “Parliamentary system of Bosnia and Herzegovina as the application of the multicultural concept of political collective representation”.

Panel discussion on the European integration process will be organized after the lectures are held.

The Academy of European Integration is realized in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the UNSA  Faculty of Law.
